The Vinyard

Acreage
The current vineyard is 21 acres. There are 12 more acres being prepared for vines in the future.

Vine Spacing
The original 5 acres are spaced at 5’ by 10’.

We have since decided that other spacing arrangements for our cool climate will result in higher brix (sugar) levels. We now plant 4’, 5’, and 6’ by 12’ depending on the variety and its vigor.

Irrigation
Twelve acres are automated drip irrigation and eight acres are furrow irrigation.

Varitals

Reds
Cabernet Sauvignon (planted in 2001 & 02)
Cabernet Franc
Merlot
Pinot Nior
Lemberger (an Austrian vinifera)

Whites
Chardonnay
Gewürztraminer

Vineyard with drip irrigation. Foreground shows new planting in grow tubes with older vines behind.

We look to have a good crop for 2005. We should be harvesting Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Lemberger, Gewurztraminer and some Cabernet Franc for blending.
